Delaware lawmakers are set to pass a same-sex marriage bill, making the state the 11th in the nation to allow gay couples the right to wed.
The vote is set for Tuesday, Reuters reported.
The bill is largely expected to pass in the Democratic-controlled Senate and go to Gov. Jack Markell, a vocal supporter of gay rights.
Rhode Island just passed into law a same-sex marriage measure. And in November, Maine, Maryland and Washington state voters passed ballot measures in favor of gay marriage. Reuters said the pro-gay marriage ballot turnout represented the first time voters in a state have approved same-sex weddings by popular referendum.
