After being turned down by yet another cemetery, embalmer Peter A. Stefan is looking to Gov. Deval Patrick to take Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s body off his hands.
According to the Boston Herald, Mr. Stefan was turned down by the city of Cambridge Sunday as well as several other cemeteries, and he is threatening to take his desperate plea as high as the White House.
“I need some help here,” he said as protesters continued to picket the Graham Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlor in Worcester. “I’ve taken heat on this from Day 1. You want to criticize me, fine. Criticism is cheap. Give me an idea.”
Rep. Edward J. Markey told the Herald the federal government should take care of the problem.
“The people of Massachusetts should have the right to say no to the burial of this terrorist on our state’s soil. The federal government should take possession of the remains and return them to his family,” he said in a statement.
Tsarnaev’s uncle Ruslan Tsarni was at the funeral home Sunday, trying to make arrangements, the Herald reports.

“He’s got no place to go. His home was here. His wife was here. His child is here,” he said, adding he was disappointed in local mosques for not stepping up to help the family.
