A moderate earthquake hit near Iran’s main nuclear reactor near Bushehr on Monday, but there were no immediate reports of damages or deaths.
Iran’s state-run media reported that the quake had a magnitude of 5.1. It occurred near Kaki, 60 miles outside of Bushehr on the Persian Gulf coast, The Associated Press reported.
Just last month, another quake had hit the same area. That one killed 37 people and prompted residents and authorities to call for more government oversight of the reactor. But government officials said there was no damage to the reactor in that quake, either.
