A Chechen father whose son was recently shot and killed during FBI questioning in Florida is demanding retribution, accusing federal agents of murder to keep him quiet.
Ibragim Todasev, 27, was an acquaintance of Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed in a shootout with police.
Todasev was fatally shot on May 22 in Orlando during an interview with the FBI. Federal agents were questioning his relationship with Tsarvaev, but he was not a suspect in the April 15 marathon bombings, various media reported.
Federal agents said Todasev became agitated and aggressive during the interview, knocking one FBI official to the ground and rushing him with broom stick or a metal pole, United Press International reported.
The agent fired at Todasev, knocking him off balance but not killing him, UPI said. Todasev then rushed the agent again and was fatally shot, FBI officials said, UPI reported.
Abdulbaki Todashev, Ibragim’s father, said the events as stated by the FBI were not true.

He showed photographs of his son’s body to the press on Thursday and said the bullet to the back of his head was obviously a “control” shot, fired execution-style. He accused the FBI of purposely killing his son to silence him — but he didn’t specify what the agents were trying to keep quiet.
“Maybe my son knew some sort of information that the police didn’t want to get out,” he said, UPI reported. “They shut him up. That’s my opinion.”
He also demanded a full investigation, UPI reported.
“I want justice. I want an investigation,” he said to reporters in Moscow, en route to retrieve his son’s body in Florida. “They come to your house like bandits, and they shoot you.”
