Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard might want to lay off the school trips for a while.

An unknown source sent a sandwich flying her way during a Thursday visit to Lyneham High School in Canberra, Agence France-Presse reported — and that’s the second time that happened this month.

Photographs show her narrow miss with the salami sandwich. It grazed past her left arm and fell to the floor in front of her. She continued shaking hands with the students, AFP reported.

“They must have thought I was hungry,” she said, AFP reported.

Perhaps practice brought about her unflappable response.

Earlier this month, Ms. Gillard was subjected to another sandwich missile — this one, an Australian special, the yeast-based Vegemite spread, AFP said.

That student was identified and suspended for 15 days, AFP reported.

The salami sandwich thrower is still at large, AFP said.
