A U.S. military plane crashed in Kyrgyzstan on Friday, but it’s not yet known if anyone was killed.
The United States maintains a base in Kyrgyzstan for troops to transport to Afghanistan. The base, Manas Transit Center, is also a refueling point for C-135 tanker planes, The Associated Press reported.
The plane crashed near Chaldovar, a village located about 100 miles from Manas air base. AP said it wasn’t clear yet whether the plane that crashed was a C-135.
A spokesman for the region said the plane busted into three parts when it crashed, AP reported. Base spokesmen, meanwhile, did not provide any more information. AP reported the crash occurred in an area of Kyrgyzstan that was unpopulated.
