MILWAUKEE (AP) - The Milwaukee Brewers placed closer Jim Henderson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring following their 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh.
Henderson says “it wasn’t a serious pull, so we’re just kind of taking the better-safe-than-sorry route right now.”
No other roster move was announced Saturday.
Henderson was injured while delivering a pitch in the ninth inning against the Pirates on Friday, giving way to Francisco Rodriguez, who earned a save in the Brewers’ 2-1 win.
Henderson has not allowed a run over 6 2/3 innings in his last seven outings. He has nine saves and a 0.92 ERA.
