Parts of Heathrow Airport in London were closed on Friday as a plane was forced to make an emergency landing with its engine on fire.
All 75 passengers were safely evacuated via slides, NBC reported. But delays are expected — at one of the world’s busiest ports of international travel.
The plane, an Airbus A319, had just lifted off for Oslo when smoke began spewing from at least one of its engines, various media reported.
Airport authorities said both British Airways runways had been initially closed, but one was reopened a short time after the plane landed, The Associated Press reported.
Safety officials have launched an investigation, AP said.
