A memorial service is scheduled this weekend for a Detroit-area youth minister killed Sunday in a car crash on his way to Myrtle Beach to honeymoon with his wife.

The service for Jordan Costa, 21, will be held Saturday at Connection Church in Canton Township, where he and his wife, Heather Favazza-Costa, 21, were married last Saturday, the Associated Press reported. Both were also involved in the youth ministry at the church.

Their vehicle crashed and rolled on a roadway in eastern Ohio’s Tuscarawas County on Sunday, AP said. Mr. Costa was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

Mr. Costa was originally from the Boston area but moved to Michigan 18 months ago to work at the church, where his wife was a lifetime member, AP said.
