Israeli’s military on Tuesday shot a Tamuz missile into Syria, destroying a post in retaliation for what it said was three consecutive nights of firing from Syria.
IDF reported that Syria had fired at its unit in the Golan Heights on Tuesday — same as on Monday and Sunday. There were no injuries, but Syria’s firing did destroy a patrol jeep, Ynet reported.
Due to the pattern of Syrian firing — same source, same location, at roughly the same time each night — the IDF decided the shots were not random, or simple overspill from Syria’s conflict, and took defensive action, The Associated Press said.
Isareli defense officials have informed the United Nations of the firings, Ynet reported.
