The head of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency made an unannounced visit to Israel on Friday to meet with Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon.
No other details of the meeting were released, The Associated Press reported. An official in Israel speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed the meeting took place.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened concern among Israeli military and political figures about weapons being sent from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israel has taken measures to stop the shipments. The military has launched airstrikes at shipments believed to have contained weapons for Hezbollah, AP reported. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went to Russia to talk that nation out of selling missile defense technology to Syria.
