Good thing it wasn’t a cremation. A Zimbabwean man on his way to being buried — in the coffin, about to be lowered into the cemetery burial plot — shocked family and friends when he suddenly came to life.

Back from the dead was Brighton Dama Zanthe, 34, who started his return journey with a leg twitch, the Guardian reported.

“I was the first to notice Zanthe’s moving legs as I was in the queue to view his body,” said mourner Lot Gaka, in the Guardian. “This shocked me. We called an ambulance immediately. It’s a miracle and people are still in disbelief.”

Mr. Zanthe, who had suffered from an illness for a while, died at home and was placed inside a coffin the following day. Nobody knows why he came back to life – and even Mr. Zanthe was mystified, the Guardian said.

“Everything is history to me,” he said, in the Guardian. “What I can only confirm is that people gathered at my house to mourn but I was given another chance and I am alive. I feel OK now.”
