Two men were shot, one killed, in a Wednesday morning shooting in Northeast D.C.’s Trinidad neighborhood.

The shootings occurred about a block apart from one another and police believe the incidents are related, Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said.

The man who was killed has not been identified. He was shot in the chest in the 1200 block of Raum Street Northeast around 7:30 a.m., police said. The other man, who was shot in the leg, was found in the 1200 block of Simms Place Northeast.

Investigators are looking for two suspects but described them only as men wearing black ski masks.

The shootings happened in an area packed with closed circuit television cameras run by the police department, but police have not yet been able to determine whether any of the cameras captured anything that could help them solve the case. One of the 10 cameras that police list in the Trinidad neighborhood is located just a block north of the crime scene at Montello Avenue and Mt. Olivet Road Northeast.
