The death count from a Bangladesh garment factory collapse has risen again, and law enforcement in the country on Wednesday say they’ve now pulled at least 400 bodies from the rubble.
The building, an eight-story factory located in the garment district, crumbled on April 24. The building, Rana Plaza, was home to five different garment businesses and administrative offices. Just this week, the rescue efforts switched to recovery, as emergency responders expressed little hope that any survivors remained beneath the debris.
On Wednesday, police said a total of 399 bodies had been pulled from the rubble and another three had died at the hospital, The Associated Press reported. That brings the count to 402, AP said.
