LAS VEGAS (AP) - Danica Patrick is willing to bet she’ll take another step forward in Vegas this week.

Proposition bets around Patrick’s NASCAR finishes are popular items in Las Vegas sports books, and Patrick likes the odds of a finish in the top 25 in Sin City.

“Top 25? Yeah, I would bet on myself,” she said. “I was running up there last year (in the Nationwide race in Las Vegas) when I had even less of an idea what was going on and didn’t have a full-time effort.”

Patrick will start 37th on Sunday. She didn’t get a chance to move higher when rain wiped out Friday’s qualifying session.

“This is a fun track,” Patrick said. “I feel like it is definitely the kind of track where I feel most comfortable: high bank, high grip. Fourth in the Nationwide car a couple of years ago was fun, and I feel like every time I’ve been here, we run pretty decent.”
