The main reason for controlling immigration is not that we don’t like immigrants; it is mainly a jobs problem. Our current system of intentional, uncontrolled immigration is worsening the employment problem in this country. Few jobs are available for Americans, and more immigrants mean even fewer jobs.

The amnesty proposals by the Gang of Eight and the White House do not call for E-Verify for employers prior to granting amnesty. If passed, these bills would be the eighth amnesty since 1986, a sorry record for a country that is supposed to set an example for the rest of the world.

I am from Pennsylvania, and Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr. and Sen. Pat Toomey are among the worst in Congress when it comes to supporting sensible legislation to control immigration.

When are people going to realize that a country with no borders soon loses its identity?
