Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year-old Pakistani girl who survived a point-blank gun shot from a Taliban militant who opposed her pro-school activism, has signed a book deal.
“I Am Malala” will be a tale of her life, USA Today reports. The Guardian says her deal hit the $3 million range. Publishers didn’t confirm that amount, however.
“I want to tell my story, but it will also be the story of 61 million children who can’t get education,” she said in a statement. “I want it to be part of the campaign to give every boy and girl the right to go to school. It is their basic right.”
Malala spent six months recovering from her gun injury, mostly in a British hospital. She was discharged from the facility and returned to school last month.
