Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg may start a political advocacy group to push policies aligned with immigration, the economy, education and taxpayer funding for more scientific research, an unnamed industry insider said.
Mr. Zuckerberg wants to join forces with other players in the technology and business community, the source said, as Newsmax reported.
Chances are the group — if it is established — would push a more liberal policy.
Mr. Zuckerberg previously has hosted President Obama at a town-hall meeting at Facebook headquarters. He also opened his home a few weeks ago for a fundraiser for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a political figure seen by many on the right as moderate to liberal on the political spectrum.
Facebook spokespeople declined to comment on the plans for an advocacy group, Newsmax reported.
