Eight Greenpeace activists who chained themselves to a Jerusalem bridge to demand that President Obama stop the drilling in the Arctic were arrested Thursday.

“We have taken in eight activists for questioning, but there are still others at the site,” said one police spokesman, in an Agence France-Presse report.

This wasn’t the only appearance for anti-drilling protesters hoping to catch Mr. Obama’s attention. Several others wearing white overalls and yellow helmets tried to scale the walls of Jerusalem’s Bridge of Strings, AFP reports. The bridge is located at the western entrance leading to Tel Aviv.

Signs read: “Obama: Stop the drilling in the Arctic” in Hebrew, as AFP reports.
