The teenage Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by a Taliban member for advocating education for females is now back in school.
Malala Yousafzai, 15, was shot point-blank by a Taliban gunman in October. She’s been recovering in England for months. And Tuesday, she returned to school, United Press International reports.
“I am so excited that today I have achieved my dream of going back to school,” she said, in the UPI report. “I want all girls in the world to have this basic opportunity.”
She is attending school at Edgbaston High School for Girls in Birmingham and said she missed her “classmates from Pakistan very much.”
