The Washington Examiner will no longer publish its daily print newspaper, beginning in June.
Staffers were advised of the change at a recent company meeting, The Washington City Paper reports. The news outlet will instead publish a weekly magazine on politics and cover breaking news via its website, staffers who attended the meeting told The Washington City Paper.
Layoffs are part of the plan, but The Washington City Paper didn’t detail how many.
Examiner staffers said they were told the newspaper’s plans were to become a center-right political website and publication, akin to The Hill — only decidedly conservative in tone.
