The White House now admits the full implementation of Obamacare will be “messy,” especially when it comes to deciding what care to provide to illegal immigrants.

Federal officials are pushing for immigration reform that includes health care coverage of illegals. The Washington Examiner reports that Mayra Alvarez with the Department of Health and Human Services just told a Center for American Progress crowd: “Let’s keep our eyes on the prize of comprehensive immigration reform. I just want to emphasize that the undocumented are part of our communities. … And I think first and foremost the administration is committed to passing comprehensive immigration reform.”

Another issue of possible confusion for Obamacare implementation focuses on the gay community, and if — or how — same-sex couples might eventually be covered.

“We know it’s going to be messy,” said Jeffrey Crowley, a former top Obama aide that helped shape Obamacare. “There are going to be things that come up that are unanticipated.”
