Former Rep. Anthony D. Weiner’s mayoral campaign spent more than $100,000 on polling and research this month, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The expenditures, reflected on a report filed on Friday with New York City election officials, suggest the former representative could be looking into a run for mayor.
Mr. Weiner was preparing a bid for mayor before he resigned from Congress in 2011 after revelations that he had sent lewd pictures to women over the Internet, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The former representative still has $4.3 million in his city campaign account, according to the Campaign Finance Board. According to The Journal, he declined to comment on the recent expenditures, saying in an email that he had “nothing to report beyond what I reported.”
