BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (AP) - There was no time for a honeymoon for Tony Kanaan, who was back to work just days after his wedding in Brazil to longtime fiancée Lauren Bohlander.

The pair was married last Friday, squeezing in the ceremony right before Kanaan rushed back to the U.S. to participate in IndyCar’s open test at Barber Motorsports Park.

“It was time to get married, we’d been engaged three years and Lauren was kind of like `Really? Is this going to happen?’” Kanaan said. “So then it became just picking a time to do it before the season, that’s why it seems like it was rushed after all this time.”

The highlight of the wedding reception was a rendition of the “Harlem Shake” craze starring Kanaan, Bohlander in her wedding dress, and fellow drivers Rubens Barrichello and Helio Castroneves. Both Kanaan and Barrichello had their helmets _ per the dance tradition _ but Castroneves, of “Dancing with the Stars” fame, was unprepared.

“It was funny. We all prepared and I was the only one that didn’t have my helmet on,” Castroneves said. “It was great. Everybody got into it. We had a good time. Lauren was really, really happy. That for me was incredible to see her having a great time, smiling.”

That naturally led to questions on when Castroneves might finally pop the question to longtime girlfriend, Adriana Henao.

The Brazilian kept his wide smile, but squirmed a bit as he answered.

“I’ve been thinking a long time, but just thinking the right time,” he said. “It’s tough. You’re trying to think about all the details, it’s worse than a race team, let me tell you. But you will hear me. With that, I’m done. Thank you.”
