Rep. Maxine Waters gave this dire prediction about sequestration at a Thursday press conference: The United States would experience a loss of 170 million jobs, if Congress and the White House fail to strike an agreement.

Only thing is: The Bureau of Labor Statistics says there are only about 140 million jobs in the United States, as Breitbart reports.

Her exact comments, Breitbart reported: “If sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback. We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these job losses, over 170 million jobs that could be lost.”

By that logic, and math, sequestration would be so economically devastating as to lead America down a path of losing 30 million more jobs than it even has, as Breitbart said.
