LONG POND, PA. (AP) - Jim Brown attended the NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway as a guest of Richard Petty.

The two Hall of Famers chatted in the garage Sunday and visited with fans, who swarmed the duo.

Brown says the NFL can learn a few things in athlete safety from NASCAR. Brown says the NFL has “a ways to go” in player safety and is taking it seriously only because of lawsuits former players have filed against the league.

NASCAR has made serious upgrades since the 2001 death of Dale Earnhardt.

Brown also attended the Pocono drivers’ meeting. His only previous NASCAR trip was to Daytona International Speedway a few years ago.
