Army Pfc. Bradley Manning, 25, heads to trial on Monday on charges related to the biggest classified information leak in U.S. history, The Associated Press reported.
He’s confessed to providing the information to WikiLeaks and pleaded guilty to several counts that could lead to a 20-year prison sentence. In February, he said he leaked the classified information to expose the U.S. military’s “bloodlust” in Iraq and Afghanistan, AP reported.
He also faces charges of aiding and abetting the enemy, however — and for that, he could face life in prison, AP reported.
Pfc. Manning — a former intelligence analyst from Oklahoma — chose his case to be heard by a judge, not jury. Some view him as a hero and political prisoner; others, as a traitor to the nation.
