Rescue crews on Monday are still searching for a 19-year-old who was swept into a waterfall at Yosemite National Park while swimming in the Merced River.

Park rangers say the man, Aleh Kalman, should not have been swimming in the waters, Fox News reported. Spokeswoman Kari Cobb said he’s been missing since Saturday, when witnesses saw him get pulled into the 594-foot Nevada Fall, The Associated Press reported.

A team aboard a California Highway Patrol helicopter joined the park’s search unit to look for him over the weekend.

Ms. Cobb said Mr. Kalman had been visiting the park with a church group. The trail beneath the falls has been closed, as the search continues, AP said.
