Up to 17,000 libraries will take part in a federal education campaign to help Americans understand President Obama’s health care law.
Librarians can play a key role in educating the public, federal officials said, according to the Associated Press. The librarian educational initiative is due to be announced in Chicago on Sunday during the American Library Association conference, but AP obtained early information.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is creating informational material now in order to help librarians learn the latest of the law, AP reported. They will then be better equipped to assist the expected 7 million who will enroll in Obamacare marketplaces in the coming year.
The educational initiative at local libraries begins Oct. 1, when Americans can start the process of shopping for insurance and seeking tax credits to help with costs.
