A man was arrested after reportedly assaulting two people, including a police officer, at a gun control rally in front of the New Hampshire state Capitol Tuesday.
The event was hosted by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s group Mayors Against Illegal Guns movement. People read the names of those “killed with guns” since the Sandy Hook massacre outside their “No More Names” bus, the New Hampshire Union Leader reported.
Witnesses said Daniel Musso, 52, approached and shouted at John Cantin, whose daughter was shot and killed in 2009 by her husband.
When Mr. Musso was asked by police to move, he placed his hand on an officer, was tasered and arrested, witnesses told the Union Leader.
The man was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of simple assault, police said.
“They just weakened their cause and strengthened ours,” Mr. Cantin said of the incident.

The rally attracted numerous counter-protesters. The Union Leader reports that there were only about 40 No More Names supporters, while there were at least 60 gun rights supporters in attendance.
“I think this is a joke,” said Tony Mayfield, who brought his AR-15 rifle and Sig Sauer T39 handgun to the rally, the Union Leader reported. “We have, for all intents and purposes, a corporation from out of state doing this little publicity stunt here.”
Some of the loudest heckles came when a reader spoke of Tamerlan Tsarnaev — one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects who was killed by police during a gunfight — as if he was a victim of gun violence.
“He’s a terrorist!” several protesters shouted.
