The non-profit National Father’s Day Council awarded former President Bill Clinton as “Father of the Year” at a New York fundraiser for Save the Children on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
The Democrat, as well as Macy’s Inc Chief Executive Terry Lundgren, were honored for “their success in balancing accomplished careers and the demands of fatherhood,” the council said in a statement.
“I completely agree!!!” Mr. Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, now 33, said on Twitter when the award was first made public in January, Reuters said.
The Father of the Year award was first bestowed in 1941 and has honored Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, Reuters reported.
