A medical helicopter crashed during takeoff at a southeastern Oklahoma hospital, leaving one dead and three injured.

The helicopter was lifting off at the Choctaw Nation Health Care Center about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, said a hospital spokeswoman, Janet Sharp, in The Associated Press.

On board were the patient, the pilot, a nurse and a paramedic, NBC reported. The patient was killed, and two of the three injured were in critical condition on Wednesday, NBC said.

Ms. Sharp said the helicopter lost power and then caught on fire after it hit the ground, NBC reported.

This is the second medical helicopter crash in a week. Last Thursday, all three crew members aboard a medical chopper flying about 100 miles south of Lexington, Ky., were killed during transport of a patient, when the helicopter crashed.
