NSA information leaker Edward Snowden has accepted an asylum offer from Venezuela, the Associated Press reports.
Alexei Pushkov, the head of the Russian parliament’s foreign affairs committee, tweeted that Mr. Snowden accepted the offer from Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro.
Mr. Snowden, who is currently at a transit station in a Moscow airport, has also been offered asylum by Bolivia and Nicaragua, CBC News reported.
It’s the world “first collective humanitarian asylum,” Mr. Maduro said, referencing all the countries that would welcome Mr. Snowden.
