Liz Cheney, the elder of ex-Vice President Dick Cheney’s two daughters, said she is considering a run against Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi in the next Republican primary.
Her exact words, from her mouth to Mr. Enzi’s ears, as USA Today reported: She’s “looking at” the seat.
Mr. Enzi said he is going to run for a fourth term in 2014. Ms. Cheney moved to Jackson Hole, Wyo., from Virginia last year — and seeking political office in the state runs in the family.
Mr. Cheney served as Wyoming’s only congressman between 1979 and 1989. He then served as secretary of defense for President George H.W. Bush and as vice president for President George W. Bush.
Ms. Cheney’s challenge to Mr. Enzi could have some awkward moments. USA Today reported that Mr. Enzi and Mr. Cheney are frequent fly-fishing partners.
