Trayvon Martin’s mother testified Friday that she is positive the voice heard screaming for help on a recorded emergency call is her son’s.
Sybrina Fulton said her 17-year-old son was screaming for help moments before he was shot by George Zimmerman, who is on trial for second-degree murder for the February 2012 incident.
“I heard my son screaming,” she said.
Voice recognition experts have testified that the identity of the screamer was impossible to discern. That testimony was ruled inadmissible, however.
Ms. Fulton’s testimony came as prosecutors began wrapping their case. It is unclear if Mr. Zimmerman’s defense attorneys plan to put him on the stand.
Mr. Zimmerman, 29, a neighborhood watch volunteer for his gated community in Sanford, Fla., shot the unarmed black teenager as he was walking back to his house with a bottle of iced tea and a bag of Skittles.
