A woman whose car was swallowed by a sinkhole in Toledo said she kept calling on Jesus to save her — and he did.

Firefighters are “my guardian angels,” said 60-year-old Pamela Knox, who was driving her Chevrolet Malibu on Wednesday when the ground suddenly opened, NPR reported.

“It was just hard to believe that this was actually happening to me,” she said, NPR said. “As the car was falling, I just kept calling on the name of Jesus. I just kept saying ’Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.’ “

Emergency responders were able to lower a ladder to her and help her climb from the hole. She wasn’t injured, NPR said.
