Ariel Castro, the Ohio suspect indicted on 329 counts of kidnapping and rape for the decade-long imprisonment of three Cleveland-area women, asked a judge on Wednesday if he could visit with the girl he fathered with one of his captives.
The girl is now 6 years old. Her mother is Amanda Berry.
“I just think that would be inappropriate,” said judge Michael Russo, in denying the request, the Daily Mail reported.
Mr. Castro, 52, was in court for his pre-trial hearing.
Ms. Berry and her daughter, Jocelyn, along with Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were rescued from Mr. Castro’s Cleveland home on May 6. The women had all disappeared nearly a decade ago.
He is accused of subjecting them to numerous rapes, beats and even induced abortions. The suspect has pleaded not guilty and is behind bars on an $8 million bond.
Mr. Castro, a former bus driver, was ruled competent to stand trial at the Wednesday hearing.
