A man who police wanted to question in connection with the murder case of former New England Patriots’ star Aaron Hernandez was killed in a one-car car crash.
Thaddeus Singleton III, 33, was driving Sunday with a female passenger, Tabitha Perry, when his car shot into the air and rammed the Farmington Country Club, the Hartford Courant reported. The car was six-feet in the air when it struck.
Ms. Perry suffered undisclosed injuries.
Mr. Singleton was an associate of Mr. Hernandez’s, Yahoo Sports said. And police wanted to speak with him about Mr. Hernandez, who has been charged in first-degree murder for the shooting death of a friend, Odin Lloyd.
Mr. Lloyd’s body was found June 17 about a mile from Mr. Hernandez’s home. Mr. Hernandez, who was released by the Patriots upon his arrest, has pleaded not guilty to that charge.
Also of note: The Nissan Maxima that Mr. Singleton was driving at the time of the crash was registered to Mr. Hernandez’s uncle, Andres Valderrama. And Mr. Singleton, who was raised in the same Bristol, Conn., town as Mr. Hernandez, was married to the football star’s cousin, Yahoo reported.

Mr. Hernandez is also being investigated for a double murder in Boston in 2012, police said.
