Indiana State Police say a pilot crashed a small plane into a home in central Indiana on Thursday, igniting a fire and sending residents fleeing.
Everyone got out of the house safely, one witness told Fox 59, the local television station.
The two aboard the plane also escaped uninjured, The Associated Press reported.
The incident took place in a neighborhood of Columbus, located about 40 miles south of Indianapolis. The home is situated a mile from the local airport, AP reported.
Fire broke out shortly after impact, and firefighters rushed to extinguish the blaze. The home suffered major damage in the fire, AP reported.
Video from one television crew’s helicopter showed that nearby homes were not damaged.
