Eliot Spitzer’s campaign officials can thank Anthony Weiner for the latest question by the Wall Street Journal pertaining to his own prostitution scandal from 2011: “Have you consorted with prostitutes since resigning as New York governor in 2008?”

“Absolutely not,” Mr. Spitzer said, the Wall Street Journal reported. “And we’re done answering those questions.”

The comparisons between the two men are tough to avoid, however. Both are from New York. Both are Democrats. Both fell from great political heights due to sexual scandals. And both are trying to launch career comebacks in the public service sector.

CNN Jack Tapper subtly noted the similarities in an interview with Mr. Spitzer last week.

He asked Mr. Spitzer: “When was the last time you broke that [Class E felony pay-for-sex] law? 2008?”

Mr. Spitzer’s answer: “That’s correct,” USA Today reported.
