Prime Minister David Cameron said on Monday the United Kingdom was sending a directive to Internet service providers across the land – no porn allowed, without first obtaining an opt-in notice from the homeowner.
Mr. Cameron, who proposed the initiative, said the order would also keep households from receiving sexually graphic movies that depict rape scenes, Breitbart reported. His goal: To restore dignity to women and to provide “a real deterrent” to children’s exposure to the movies, he said, Breitbart reported.
Mr. Cameron said in a speech that the ban would work via automatic filters placed on new broadband accounts. The purchaser, or user, would have to click a special button to allow for receipt of movies and broadcasts deemed pornographic in nature.
“By the end of this year, when someone sets up a new broadband account the settings to install family friendly filters will be automatically selected,” Mr. Cameron said, in Breitbart.
“If you just click ‘next’ or ‘enter,’ then the filters are automatically on. And, in a really big step forward, all the ISPs have rewired their technology so that once your filters are installed, they will cover any device connected to your home Internet account.”
