Sen. Mark Udall’s brother, James, went out for a hike in Wyoming on Wednesday and never returned.

“Mark is concerned about his brother’s whereabouts and he continues to closely monitor the situation,” said a spokesman with the Democratic senator’s office, United Press International reported. “He and his family hope for the best.”

James — who also goes by the name of Randy — is 61 years old. He was last seen walking through the Wind River Range and was due to return home on Wednesday, the senator’s office said, in a statement to Politico.

He’s an experienced hiker with many past solo trips through the mountains, the senator’s office said.
