It’s impossible to tell with 100 percent accuracy whether the cry for help heard in the background on a 911 call belonged to George Zimmerman or Trayvon Martin, an FBI voice expert testified at trial on Monday.
Voice analyst Hirotaka Nakasone, in court to testify on behalf of the state, said of the recorded cries and gunshot that killed Martin: “That type of sample is not fit for voice comparison,” CNN reported. He said the recording was just too short in length to properly analyze and the sounds were too far away to properly identify.
Twenty-two witnesses were called to testify last week.
This week, testimony will include photos of Martin’s body and Mr. Zimmerman’s wounds, CNN said.
Mr. Zimmerman, who claims self-defense, faces second-degree-murder charges in the shooting death of Martin.
