The death toll from a string of weekend terror attacks in Pakistan hit 52 on Monday after more victims died at area hospitals.
The attacks were carried out by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, The Associated Press reported. The militant group has targeted Shiites for years now.
At least three separate bombings took place on Sunday: The first, an explosion outside the southwestern city of Quetta left 30 dead, and several injured. The second came in Peshawar, in an attack on a military convoy. And the third was a roadside bombing that targeted Pakistan soldiers traveling in a vehicle.
The attacks came on the heels of a pledge from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to stop the widespread terrorism, BBC reported.
Attacks over the past two weeks have increasingly targeted women students, foreigners and military convoys, and Mr. Sharif has been hard-pressed to say how he will put a stop to the bombings.
