The Yorkshire terrier is no longer top dog in New York City. According to an American Kennel Club survey, the favorite canine for city dwellers is now the Labrador retriever.

The Yorkie fell hard on the AKC’s Top 10 list for the city, from No. 1 to No. 5 in just a year’s time, The Associated Press reported.

The lab was the No. 1 dog in the nation.

Following close behind in the AKC’s top 10 breeds were the German shepherd and the golden retriever.

The beagle came in fourth, while the bulldog checked in a five.

They were followed, in order, by the Yorkie, boxer, poodle, Rottweiler and “hot dog,” er, dachshund.
