David Plouffe, former campaign manager and political adviser for President Obama, weighed in on recent Republican Party rifts with a gleeful, early morning Thursday tweet: “Grab the popcorn,” he wrote.

“Pop a beer, sit back and enjoy this goat rodeo,” Mr. Plouffe tweeted, according to a Politico blog entry.

Mr. Plouffe was referring to GOP infighting that pitted Republican strategist Karl Rove against conservative colleagues who see his newly created Conservative Victory Project as a direct attack on the tea party.

Mr. Rove denied the group — which touts of mission of rebuilding the Republican Party — is aimed at tossing tea party candidates. But his denials don’t sit well with everyone.

In a separate Politico report, Matt Kibbe, president of the tea party-backed group, FreedomWorks, said of Mr. Rove’s new organization: “This is a little bit like gang warfare right now.”
