The wife of former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. — who resigned his congressional seat in November, after facing fire from federal investigators along with ailing health — is now in the midst of her own federal inquiry.
According to the Daily Mail, Sandi Jackson, who until last month served on a local governing body representing the Seventh Ward in Chicago, faces federal questions about the whereabouts of some of her husband’s congressional campaign funds. Mr. Jackson was under FBI scrutiny over his use of campaign dollars, the Daily Mail reported. But now, investigators have opened a separate inquiry into his wife, mead reports say.
The Huffington Post reports she abruptly resigned from her local board position last month, but her resignation letter didn’t mention any federal investigation. The Daily Mail reported the resignation was due to “very painful family health issues,” according to her letter.
