Thousands crowded together at a synagogue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side on Monday to say goodbye to one of New York City’s living legends, former Mayor Ed Koch.
Brass, bold and quintessentially Big Apple, the 88-year-old Mr. Koch — known for his signature saying, “How’m I doing?” — died Friday.
“He had a big brain, but he had a bigger heart,” said former President Bill Clinton, delivering the eulogy at the Temple Emanu-el synagogue in Manhattan, according to a Newsmax report. “We miss you so much.”
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg also spoke, likening Mr. Koch to Moses, according to Newsmax.
“Ed, in a way, was our Moses — just with a little less hair,” Mr. Bloomberg said in the Newsmax report.
