Quit cursing. That’s the message from one New Jersey Catholic high school to its female students, according to various media.

Queen of Peace High School officials have asked “ladies to act like ladies” and take a pledge against cursing, one teacher tells The Record. The message to boys, however, was quite different.

They were told “not to swear in the presence of ladies,” according to NBC.

Newser reports that at least one girl finds the policy biased: “Boys should be more like gentlemen” and take the pledge, too, she reportedly said. Boys, however, agree with the administration.

“It’s unattractive when girls have potty mouths,” one boy said, in The Record report, at the same time admitting he can’t quit swearing during baseball games.
