Israeli authorities conducted a West Bank raid early Monday and arrested 20 members of Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, according to various media.
Included among the arrests were three lawmakers, The Associated Press reported. Another member arrested was reportedly heading up peace talks between Hamas and the rival group Fatah, officials told the AP.
Israeli military has confirmed the arrests were made, but declined to give further details.
Fatah and Hamas — Hamas dominates the Gaza region — have been fighting each other since 2007, but have made recent attempts to reconcile and unite against Israel, AP reported.
